June 2009: Dr. Clown Programs

Since a few months we are doing regular Dr. Clown Programs at the János Korház in
which we are cheering up the little patients with clowning-fun, magic tricks, songs and
balloon modelling. The children as well as the hospital staff enjoy the programs
tremendeously. In the slideshow you’ll see pictures from a show in an English school
and from a program in the János Korház.

April & June 2009: Yoghurt for the Needy

June: 5000 Natural Yoghurts
Again the Alföldi Dairy Products RT in Szekesfehervár helped and gave us 5000 natural yoghurts, that
we brought to the Social Station of the Fejér County. From there the items were distributed to many
institutions of the county such as Homeless Shelters, Orphanages, Old Folks Homes and Handicapped
Homes.

April: 1000 Yoghurt Drinks
The Alföldi Dairy Products RT in Szekesfehervár donated 1000 Yoghurtdrinks that we delivered together with Bioyoghurts and Pastries to several institutions. The big Home for the Handicapped in Polgárdi, the Senior Citizens Home in Érdliget, the Homeless Shelter in Érd and the Mothers Home in Érdparkváros happily received our unexpected deliveries.

Winter clothes for the needy of Érd

In light of the soon coming colder season Ildiko and Andrea took the initiative to pick up from Switzerland and Denmark with a sponsored van a larger shipment of winter clothes. Throughout October 2008 we then brought the donated winter clothes and ECCO-winter boots to several institution in  Érd. One bulk of aid went to a distribution center for the needy, some to two places that help the homeless and some aid we brought to the poorest senior citizens home in the town. Also several homeless mothers in Csepel received the much needed winter clothes.

Also this year we have been present with youth-counselling at the Sziget-Festival to help the youth of Hungary, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and France with answers to the most imminent and important questions one can have in these turbulent times of conflicts, violence and economic uncertainties. 

Deva Summer Camp, 2008/ + Gallery

From the middle until the end of July Andrea and Ildiko organized the second time a summer camp in Deva, Erdély. Our own teens (Mate, 16, Chris, 14, Daniella, 14 and Jeannette, 13 years old) played an essential part in running and keeping the camp well organized for the 40 orphans of Böjte Csaba’s (see him on the photo, top-left) orphanage in Deva. The age range was from 8 until 18, accordingly we had to plan the daily classes and activities. Every morning started out with morning exercise lead by Daniel. After breakfast musicians Daniel, Alicia, Johnny and Andrea got everybody going with lots of music including action songs.

Every morning we gave English classes to help the orphans get a basic knowledge of English and through it better educational opportunities. The afternoons were reserved for the fun part of the camp: basketball- and soccer games, hikes, badminton, water fights, obstacle courses, treasure hunts, hide and seek games, theater courses, arts and crafts plus camp fires in the evening and some dance evenings.

The most important “side effects” of the camp were again the bonds of friendship being forged and strengthened during this special time. We are now more than ever convinced that our friendships will last a lot longer than the short life we live here on this earth. As you can see towards the end in the gallery, saying “Good Bye” wasn’t easy for all of us, many of us, especially the children from the orphanage, left with tears in the eyes… but we are looking forward to see each other again in Deva when we will possibly be touring Erdély to do our Christmas shows.

EXIT-Festival in Újvidék, Serbia/ + Gallery

From the 10th until the 13th of July 2008 the biggest music-festival of the Balkans rocked for the 9th time Újvidék, Serbia. “EXIT” began in 1999 as a student protest-event against the Milosevic-regime, but by now about 40000 visitors come from all over Eastern Europe to see rock greats such as the Sex Pistols, Billy Idol or Robert Plant.

About 70 mostly young volunteers coming from Poland, Hungary (5 people from our center in Érd), Romania, Slovenia, Croatia got together to reach the searching youth as well as the people of Novi Sad  through unconventional means: united performances by our 30 musicians, streetdance, free hugs, street-pantomime, and songs played to numerous individuals, which opened the doors to thousands of personal conversations with the searching, looking for answers to questions about the meaning of life.

Ragyogó arcok – Sikeres adományozás

Szombathely – az ország nyugati régiójában is nagy örömmel fogadták Fanni és Panni produkcióját.  Alicia, Daniella and Jeannette (vokalisták és táncosok), Krisztián (gitár) és Máte (dob) – a megye gyermekvédelmi intézetei számara rendezett programon, együttes erővel adták elő inspiráló műsorukat. A kb. 200 fős közönség vegyes korosztálya még inkább megkövetelte a sokrétű előadást. A bohócok és a bábszínház a kisebbek, a szívhez szóló zene és ritmikus tánc a serdülők örömére szolgált. Néhány bűvésztrükk még a nevelőket is megnevette.

Másnap Kőszegen, az SOS Gyermekfaluban azok a gyerekek, akik az előző napi műsorunkat látták olyan nagy hírünket keltették, hogy az otthon kicsinye és nagyja a társalgóban várt minket. Mivel csak kézműves foglalkozásra készültünk, csak egy rögtönzött előadást tartottunk. A HAMA cég által adományozott készségfejlesztő játékok sok nehéz körülményekből származó gyermeket tettek boldoggá.  Az Igazgató Úr is hálás szívvel fogadta az adományozott vadonat új lábbeliket - Köszönet a Dán adományozóknak!

 

A Szeretet az egyetlen dolog, melyet ha tovább adsz is, növekedik!

Déva , Erdély - Kétnapos, rövidre szabott utunk során újabb szállítmányt hoztunk a szíveinkhez igen közel nőtt dévai árva gyermekeknek. A Dániából hozott vadonat ój cipőkre, ruhákra hatalmas szükség van itt. Erdélyben még ma is problémát jelent sok család számára, hogy a nincstelenség miatt nem tudnak cipőt húzni a gyerekek lábára, hogy azok iskolába tudjanak járni.

Készségfejlesztés az érdi kicsinyeknek…

… a Dán, Hama cég által adományozott szines kirakók nagy örömet okoztak az önkormányzati bölcsödében. A gyerekek közel két órán át, kitartó figyelemmel és izgalommal rakosgatták a színes gyöngyöket a mintákra. Ez igen nagy teljesítmény, amit még a bölcsödei nevelők is kommentáltak, hisz ezek a 2-3 éves gyerekek gyakran a TV előtt ülnek, és nagy szükségük van arra, hogy kezeik finom-motorikus képességét fejleszthessék. Alkotásaik között voltak traktorok, bohócok, kismadarak és sok más állatok. A 22 kis aktív bölcsis foglalkoztatásában nagy szerepet játszott Jeannette (13) és Patrik (12 éves) gyermekeink, akik nagy türelemmel és kedvességgel segítették a kicsiket a színek és formák helyes kiválasztásában. Látogatásunk a Javítóintézeti lányoknál

Minden második szombaton foglalkozást tartunk a fiataloknak. Beszélgetéseink, a zene, tánc és az angol nyelv gyakorlása közelebb hozza őket a külvilághoz. Reményt és szeretetet hozunk a hányattatott előéletű, de igen kedves és szeretetre éhes lányoknak. Saját gyermekeink, akik maguk is tinédzserek, örömmel osztják meg barátságukat velük, könnyítve az intézeti élet nehézségein.
